Holey Grail Donuts is a charming little food truck nestled in the picturesque Hanalei Bay. With its small, covered deck and comfortable seating, it's the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious donut while soaking up the tropical vibes. While the menu may be limited, the donut options are all incredibly tempting. I opted for the J Dilla, a dark chocolate delight featuring rich Kauai-grown chocolate and a smooth coco butter drizzle. The chocolate was deep and flavorful, perfectly balanced by the subtle sweetness of the coco butter. The texture was soft and fluffy, with some chewiness. I also tried the Original Sin, a classic combination of Hawaiian vanilla bean, salted maple, and a glazed finish. The vanilla bean added a delightful sweetness, while the salted maple provided a savory counterpoint. The donut itself was light and airy, with a crisp, glazed exterior. The service at Holey Grail Donuts was fast and friendly, making for a pleasant overall experience. If you're looking for a delicious and unique treat in Hanalei Bay, I highly recommend giving Holey Grail Donuts a try.

Stopped by after a visit to Hanalei Bay and had some delicious doughnuts and very tasty coffee. What annoys me about Kauai when we were there is that the brick-and-mortar restaurants and food trucks can have very odd business hours. I think it's a labor shortage thing. We were at this place during the lunch hour on a Sunday and you can see in the photos that other food trucks were closed at this time. Just this place and the Thai food truck were open during lunch hour on a Sunday. Many casual eateries on Kauai seem to no care about Akamai business practices for what is probably their #1 income generator - tourism. They just need to generate enough income to live off of and then who cares! Keep that in mind when visiting. This place was open though and seems to keep reliable hours. I recommend a stop for some delicious doughnuts and coffee.

I had Holey Grail donuts in LA and when I was vacationing in Kauai, I just had to go to their original location and see where it all began. Their Hanalei-Kauai shop is operating out of a cute red food truck and the staff was very friendly. I went there to just get chai or matcha latte but they got me...to purchase a couple of donuts. They always make the donuts to order. The donuts are served fresh, warm, and crispy as they fry (in 100% organic and sustainably-sourced coconut oil) and dip the donuts as the order comes in. So far, I've visited their locations in Santa Monica, Larchmont, and in Hanalei, Kauai. I do have gluten allergy/intolerance (Not Celiac). I never got sick when I eat the donuts. Do alert and check with them if you have a more severe allergy. Their donut base is made out of taro, it is vegan, free from dairy, soy, and egg. It's a plus since I also have dairy allergy. They recently create and start selling gluten free donut hole. The GF donut hole is crispy and they currently have 2 options for the GF donut in term of flavors: 1. Original Sin-Hawaiian vanilla bean, salted maple, glazed 2. Rolled - in their flavor of the day They might not have the GF at all of their locations-currently have it in the Long Beach location.
